The Sacred Heart Sodality is a formed group of Christian women, within the parish, whose mission is to model Christian behavior, pray and to volunteer for service within our parish and community. The women meet once a month for an hour at 9:30am and presently attend the 10:30am Mass as a collective body following their once a month meeting. These meetings are held in St. Rita's Room, lower church. This community of women conducts fundraising activities that help support the specific needs of the parish or community. Activities such as:
2 Bake Sales a Year
Basket Raffles
Craft Sales
Vendor Fairs
The money raised from said fundraisers have been donated to assist in St. Vincent De Paul Society for the food pantry, the purchase of needed items such as vacuums for the church, items for Mary's Mantle, medals for Confirmation Candidates, to give support for activities in Lansing Inn and to aid in celebratory receptions in the Parish such as the Confirmation Reception.
In December, a Christmas Party is held for members and in June, a Communion Breakfast is held for members in which guest speakers provide for enjoyable and interesting information. These two celebrations invite members to enjoy each other's company, enjoy good food and enjoy door prizes.
WORSHIP
Women conduct an evening of Stations of the Cross, Through the Eyes of the Blessed Mother, in which all are welcome to attend. Women in this group also participate in the All Soul's Day Service. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is said in the group, usually once a month.
